Ricco Villanueva Siasoco received a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting & Film from Boston University (1994) and a Master of Fine Arts in Writing & Literature from the Bennington Writing Seminars (2001).

His fiction has been published in The North American Review, The Boston Phoenix, Memorious, Drunken Boat, Flyway, Genre, and the anthologies Screaming Monkeys: Critiques of Asian American Images (Coffee House Press, 2004), Growing Up Filipino (Philippine American Literary House, 2003), and Take Out: Queer Writing from Asian Pacific America (Asian American Writers' Workshop, 2000). His essays and book reviews appear regularly in publications such as Boston Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, ArchitectureBoston, and The Improper Bostonian.

In 1998, Ricco was selected as a PEN/New England Discovery writer by novelist Patricia Powell. He has received fellowships and awards from the LEF Foundation, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and the Institute of Asian American Studies at California State University Los Angeles.

Ricco has worked as a web editor for Infoplease.com, a grantswriter for a modern dance company in New York City, the managing editor of Glue magazine in Boston's South End, and a string of odd jobs including a graveyard-shift online producer for the Boston Globe; an assembly worker at a gas mask factory in Omaha; a bartender at Duds 'N Suds laundromat/bar in Des Moines, and t-shirt salesperson at The Hard Rock Cafe.

Currently, Ricco teaches creative writing at Boston College and is completing his first novel.
